About Us

Welcome to Planet Wombat, the Happy Place. Australian designed quality artistic products. That’s us! Planet Wombat is a place to have fun and enjoy life. Our website is an outlet for Home and Living items, Art Prints, and Photography.

Gabrielle and Simon Marlow are established artists from the picturesque Southern Highlands area, just south of Sydney, Australia. We design and create everything you see here today.  We are creating more lovely artworks and surface pattern designs every week and will be adding to this website very often.

Gabrielle has a Linktree on this site as well, which will take you to her Spoonflower shop. She had a big passion for surface pattern design and here you can find her lovely wallpapers, fabrics, bedding and home decor.

We will very soon have free meditation videos in nature to help you enjoy the day, feel positive and balanced. Read our uplifting blogs, aimed at fun with interesting topics, events, and people. Our plan is to create light and entertaining Ebooks with tips and tricks to help with your own creative endeavours.

Like a magazine full of diverse and interesting articles, our Planet Wombat Website is always growing with new ideas each month. Save our website in your favourites and return again to enjoy!

About Gabrielle:

I have drawn and painted ever since I can remember. It has always been my favourite thing to do. It is my joy and my happy place. I work from home in country NSW, at Balmoral village where I am surrounded by nature, my inspiration.

I can walk into the bush or the garden, pick flowers and draw them; photograph them then paint them to use in my designs.

A little bit about my process:

I love drawing and painting and using pure paint pigments. I use a real painting as my initial design. Art on paper. I pick flowers on walks in nature or photograph flowers, plants, foliage, insects, birds, and other animals to use as inspiration. There is nothing quite like being outside and immersing oneself in nature to get truly inspired.

I use an ordinary pencil for the initial sketch or drawing on paper, then watercolour paints on artist quality paper. Sometimes I work in oils and pen and wash as well. It just depends on what I feel like doing and what it is for.

The best artworks are scanned, digitised and made into illustrations and repeat surface pattern designs.

You can find my surface designs  here. This link takes you to the linktree for all my different products that are available.

I am dedicated and passionate about the preservation of our beautiful Mother Earth.  It is my aim to have all products with my designs on them in natural fibres, plastic free, to inspire sustainable living.
